PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks placed OF David Peralta on the Paternity Leave List and recalled RHP J.J. Hoover from Triple-A Reno.
 
Peralta, who is celebrating his 30th birthday today, has left the team to be with his wife, Jordan, who gave birth of their first child this morning, a daughter named Sofia.  
 
Hoover, who turned 30 yesterday, is 1-1 with a 4.82 ERA (15 ER in 28.0 IP) and 40 strikeouts in 36 appearances for the D-backs this season. In 6 games with the Aces, he posted a 1.13 ERA (1 ER in 8.0 IP) with 8 strikeouts.
