A's to Name Gate D After Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley

The Oakland A's will name D Gate at the Oakland Coliseum after former Athletic and Baseball Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley.

The Oakland A's will name D Gate at the Oakland Coliseum after former Athletic and Baseball Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley. The team will dedicate Dennis Eckersley Gate at D Gate at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25 before the A's play host to the Texas Rangers. Members of Eckersley's family will be joined by his former teammates for the dedication ceremony, including Rickey Henderson, Carney Lansford, Mike Moore and Terry Steinbach.
The club will also host Dennis Eckersley Day on Saturday, Aug. 26 when 15,000 fans receive an Eckersley Bobblehead, presented by Chevron ExtraMile. He will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the 1:05 p.m. game against the Rangers. Tickets for the Aug. 25 and Aug. 26 games are available at athletics.com.
