A's Homestand Highlights August 25 - 27

The Oakland A's will host the Texas Rangers for a weekend series, Aug. 25 - 27, at the Oakland Coliseum. The three-game homestand includes the Dennis Eckersley Gate dedication, Eckersley bobblehead giveaway, and the fifth annual Oakland A's Community Fund Bowling Bash.

The Oakland A's will host the Texas Rangers for a weekend series, Aug. 25 - 27, at the Oakland Coliseum. The three-game homestand includes the Dennis Eckersley Gate dedication, Eckersley bobblehead giveaway, and the fifth annual Oakland A's Community Fund Bowling Bash.
The team will dedicate Dennis Eckersley Gate at D Gate at 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 25. Eckersley, and members of his family, will be joined by his former teammates for the dedication ceremony, including Rickey Henderson, Carney Lansford, Mike Moore and Terry Steinbach. The club will also host Dennis Eckersley Day on Saturday, Aug. 26 when 15,000 fans receive an Eckersley bobblehead, presented by Chevron ExtraMile. He will also throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Saturday's game.  
The A's, along with all MLB clubs, will wear non-traditional alternate uniforms this weekend during the inaugural Players Weekend. Each player will wear his nickname of choice on the back of his jersey, and a patch on his sleeve to pay tribute to a person or persons who aided their career.

DENNIS ECKERSLEY GATE DEDICATION: The team will dedicate Dennis Eckersley Gate at D Gate at 4 p.m. Members of Eckersley's family will be joined by his former teammates for the dedication ceremony, including Rickey Henderson, Carney Lansford, Mike Moore and Terry Steinbach.
ITALIAN HERITAGE NIGHT: Fans who pre-purchase the Italian Heritage Night special ticket for the game will receive an A's Italian Heritage beanie and entry into a pregame party in the Eastside Club. To purchase tickets, visit athletics.com/italian.

One lucky fan has the opportunity to win half of the gross proceeds raised at each game, with the remaining proceeds benefitting the Oakland A's Community Fund's mission to support charitable organizations that aim to improve the quality of life for people throughout the Bay Area. OAKLAND A's COMMUNITY FUND BOWLING BASH: The A's will host the fifth annual Bowling Bashon Saturday evening at Earl Anthony's Dublin Bowl. The event brings together A's coaches, players, and the community for a night benefiting the Oakland A's Community Fund. This is a private event and not open to the public.
OAKLAND A's COMMUNITY FUND 50/50 RAFFLE: At select home games throughout the 2017 season, fans can participate in the Oakland A's Community Fund 50/50 Raffle, presented by Better Health East Bay, a Sutter Health Foundation. RACE AROUND THE BASES: Race Around the Bases, presented by Sutter Health, invites children 14 years old and younger onto the field after most Sunday day games to run the bases. Each participant will receive an A's Fitness Sluggers cheer card as they leave the field.
