Twins make roster additions

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled left-handed pitchers Buddy Boshers and Nik Turley from Triple-A Rochester.

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled left-handed pitchers Buddy Boshers and Nik Turley from Triple-A Rochester. In addition, the Twins have selected the contract of infielder Niko Goodrum and transferred left-handed pitcher Hector Santiago to the 60-day disabled list. 
Boshers, 29, has appeared in 27 games for the Twins this season, going 1-0 with a 5.16 ERA (29.2 IP, 17 ER), 10 walks and 24 strikeouts. In 18 games for the Red Wings this season, he posted a 3.68 ERA (14.2 IP, 6 ER) with eight walks and 15 strikeouts.
Turley, 27, has appeared in five games (3 starts) for the Twins this season and made three starts, going 0-2 with a 12.51 ERA (13.2 IP, 19 ER), five walks and 10 strikeouts. He split his minor league season between Double-A Chattanooga and Rochester, combining to go 5-5 with a 2.05 ERA (92.0 IP, 21 ER), 29 walks and 124 strikeouts.
Goodrum, 25, hit .265 (122-for-461) with 25 doubles, five triples, 13 home runs, 66 RBI, 71 runs scored, 11 stolen bases and a .309 on-base percentage in 127 games for Triple-A Rochester. The Fayetteville, Georgia native was drafted by the Twins in the second round of the 2010 First-Year Player Draft and spent the last eight seasons in the Twins minor league system, hitting .250 (614-for-2454) with 123 doubles, 33 triples, 42 home runs, 294 RBI and 122 stolen bases. Goodrum will wear number 23 and look to make his major league debut.
In addition, the Twins have added minor league hitting coordinator Rick Eckstein to the staff. Eckstein will wear number 92.
