D-backs recall Jimmie Sherfy from Triple-A Reno

The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled RHP Jimmie Sherfy from Triple-A Reno. The D-backs now have 31 players on the active roster.
Sherfy, 25, made his Major League debut on August 20 @ Minnesota Twins, and has not allowed a run in 2 appearances (2.0 IP), including his first career win in his last outing on August 21 @ New York Mets. In 44 games with Reno in 2017, he was 2-1 with 20 saves, a 3.12 ERA (17 ER in 49.0 IP) and 61 strikeouts (11.2 SO per 9.0 IP). The 2017 Pacific Coast League midseason All-Star also limited right-handers to a .121 average (12-for-99) this season, and was named the organization's Minor League Pitcher-of-the-Month for June after 9 scoreless outings (10.2 IP).
The 6-foot-0, 175-pounder owns 66 saves over 5 Minor League seasons in the D-backs' organization (2013-), and has gone 12-13 with a 3.96 ERA (97 ER in 220.1 IP) and 287 strikeouts (11.7 SO per 9.0 IP). Sherfy was selected by Arizona in the 10th round of the 2013 draft out of the University of Oregon.
