Seattle Mariners pitcher Felix Hernandez has gotten the Pop! treatment and the first 20,000 fans through the gates of Safeco Field on Saturday, September 23, when the Mariners meet the Cleveland Indians, will take home one of the sought after collectible figurines. Game time is 1:10 pm.
Pop! figures are made by Everett-based Funko. At 3.75-inches tall, the tiny vinyl figures of athletes and pop culture icons rival Beanie Babies in their hey day as the must-have item for collectors.
The King Felix Pop! features a gold crown atop Felix's baseball cap. He's also wearing a cape and holding a regal scepter topped by a baseball. Of the 20,000 figurines to be given away, 1,000 of them are of Felix is the cream Sunday alternate uniform and 34 of them, Felix's uniform number, are all gold. In the rest, Felix is sporting the Mariners home white uniform.
