Cespedes day to day after spraining wrist

OAKLAND -- A's outfielder Yoenis Cespedes exited Friday's game against the Blue Jays in the bottom of the eighth inning because of a sprained right wrist and has been deemed day to day.

"He's probably doubtful for [Saturday]," manager Bob Melvin said.

It's unclear how Cespedes sustained the injury, though he made an awkward slide while attempting to steal third base in the sixth. He was replaced in the lineup by the newly promoted Michael Taylor when his turn in the order came two frames later.

Cespedes was 2-for-4 with a pair of infield singles on the night before departing the contest.
