• Closer Aroldis Chapman appeared in a non-save situation in the ninth inning Friday and retired the side in order. Chapman, who hadn't appeared since Sunday, needed the work. But it snapped his franchise record 16 straight appearances with a save. The old record was 15 straight games with a save by Jeff Shaw in 1997.

• Todd Frazier entered Saturday's doubleheader batting .591 (13-for-22) vs. the Cubs this season. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Frazier had the second-highest batting average for a Major Leaguer against one team (minimum 25 plate appearances). David Ortiz entered the day batting .619 (13-for-21) this season vs. the Yankees.
