• Orioles reliever Troy Patton threw an inning today in instructional league, facing four batters, and will throw again on Tuesday. He will either go back-to-back Tuesday and Wednesday or just throw an extended outing on Tuesday. That's still to be decided.

• Designated hitter Jim Thome will play in simulated games Monday and Tuesday and then play in the instructional league on Wednesday.
