It's Opening Day for Auctions

Opening Day has come and gone, giving way to the rest of the Major League Baseball season. But the memory of those games that captured our rapt attention lives on at the Auction, where bidding is under way on important game-used items like jerseys worn by Bryce Harper and Stephen Strasburg, or Evan Longoria and David Price.

Harper became the youngest player with two Opening Day homers, coming in his first two at-bats on April 1 against Miami, and Strasburg allowed three hits over seven shutout innings that day. The Nationals have listed an array of other Opening Day game-used items, including the jersey worn by manager Davey Johnson, who is retiring after this season.

Jonathan Lucroy gave the Brewers a 5-4 Opening Day victory over the Rockies with a walk-off sacrifice fly in the 10th inning, and you can bid on the No. 20 home white jersey he wore that day. It even has shaving cream stains from the postgame celebration. The Brewers' auction also features home white jerseys worn by Ryan Braun, Norichika Aoki, Kyle Lohse and Martin Maldonado.

In the first Interleague Opening Day game in history, the Angels won at Cincinnati, 3-1, in 13 innings. Chris Iannetta caught the entire game for the Halos, hit a solo homer in the third inning and then produced the game-winning two-run single. Bidding is under way on a ball that Reds starter Johnny Cueto threw him in the seventh inning.

While you're there, don't forget to look for the Joey Votto No. 19 home jersey.

The Rays' auction is loaded with player jerseys and game-used bases, and included is the No. 18 jersey that Ben Zobrist wore in homering against the Orioles on Opening Day.

Matt Wieters homered for Baltimore in his first at-bat of the season against Price, and Adam Jones doubled twice in that same opener. Both players' clubhouse name plates are available, and they include the Opening Day logo.

Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki singled in his first at-bat of the year, and you can bid on a ball that was tossed out during that at-bat when Brewers starter Yovani Gallardo threw the first two pitches to him in the dirt. Look for the Opening Day logo.

The Red Sox and Yankees met in an opening series in the Bronx for the first time since 2005, and for lovers of that rivalry, you might consider a pair of old Yankee Stadium seats or a pair of replaced Fenway Park seats.
