Alfredo Marte went 4-for-5, driving home Escogido's first run with an RBI double in the first inning. An error gave Escogido two more in the frame, and Pirates No. 2 prospect Gregory Polanco added an RBI single in the second, before Pittsburgh's Starling Marte made it 5-0 with a fielder's choice grounder. Wilkin Castillo and Pedro Florimon both chipped in two hits for Escogido. Box score

The Marlins' Marcell Ozuna gave the Gigantes some much-needed breathing room in the seventh inning, when his two-run home run provided a 3-0 lead. Ozuna's double-play grounder in the ninth pushed across another run, before the Brewers' Juan Francisco smacked a two-run homer to make things interesting in the bottom of the frame. Box score

Mayaguez leadoff man Dee Gordon singled in all five of his at-bats but was caught stealing on his only attempt and scored just one run. Twins No. 5 prospect Eddie Rosario homered for Mayaguez. Roberto Pena provided the walkoff win for Caguas with his one-out, bases-loaded sacrifice fly. Caguas had rallied from a 5-0 deficit after five innings, with Jorge Padilla's eighth-inning sac fly tying the score.
