Venezuelan Winter League

Magallanes 6, Caribes 5 (13 innings)
In a battle for first place in the round-robin playoffs, Magallanes plated the go-ahead run in the top of the 13th inning on an RBI groundout. Yankees farmhand Adonis Garcia scored the eventual winning run when Ramon Hernandez beat out what would have been a 5-4-3 double play. Hernandez hit a sixth-inning grand slam that pulled Magallanes even -- his second home run in as many nights since signing a Minor League deal with Kansas City on Tuesday. The win moves Magallanes to 5-1 in the playoffs, one game ahead of second-place Caribes. Box score
