The Oakland A's outrighted catcher Ryan Lavarnway to Triple-A Nashville, the club announced today.
Lavarnway was designated for assignment last Saturday after going 0-for-2 in one game with Oakland. He was selected from Nashville July 5 when Josh Phegley went on the paternity list. Lavarnway has a .274 average, four home runs and 20 RBI in 61 games with the Sounds.
