Call stands after Salvy picked off first base

KANSAS CITY -- All-Star Salvador Perez was picked off at first base in the fourth inning on Friday night, and he remained out.

Perez led off with a single and, after two outs, was caught leaning off first by Tigers pitcher Anibal Sanchez, who threw to Miguel Cabrera. The Royals issued a challenge, but after a video review, umpire Vic Carapazza's call stood.

"I think I was safe," Perez said. "He tagged me on the arm after my hand was on the base."
