Cardinals-Dodgers Game 1 NLDS lineups

LOS ANGELES -- Here are the starting lineups for Friday's National League Division Series Game 1 between the Cardinals and Dodgers at Dodger Stadium.

CARDINALS

In an effort to boost his lineup with additional right-handed hitters against Clayton Kershaw, Cardinals manager Mike Matheny has opted for righties Pete Kozma and Randal Grichuk over Kolten Wong and Peter Bourjos.

Matheny also bumped Matt Adams down in the order to sixth, moving righties Jhonny Peralta and Yadier Molina each up a spot. Adams has hit just .197 (38-for-193) against lefties for his career.

Matheny could have gone with another right-handed bat in center field with Bourjos, but he stayed the course with the hot-hitting Jon Jay, who batted .323 (60-for-186) in the second half.

"It's not an easy assignment with Kershaw," Matheny said. "We have faith that all these guys are going to help us one way or the other, whether it's the beginning of the game or late."

DODGERS

The Dodgers are sending out their regular starting lineup to try to put up enough runs against the Cardinals' Cy Young Award candidate in support of their own Cy Young contender.

Los Angeles' formidable lineup will surely have its hands full against Wainwright and the Cardinals. Wainwright, 20-9 with a 2.38 ERA this season, saw the Dodgers once this season. He held them to one run on five hits in eight innings.

Dee Gordon (1-for-3) and Yasiel Puig (3-for-10) are the two L.A. starters with batting averages above .300 against Wainwright. Matt Kemp is 3-for-27 against the Cardinals ace.
