and are projected to come off the 15-day disabled list ahead of Tuesday's series opener in Cincinnati, general manager John Mozeliak said on Friday. And if all goes well with 's rehab assignment, he'll likely rejoin the team three days later when it returns to St. Louis.
Mozeliak said that Carpenter, who strained his right oblique on July 6, "took a significant step in the right direction" on Thursday. If Carpenter continues to progress without a setback, he will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Springfield on Sunday.

Moss, who is recovering from a sprained left ankle, is already with Springfield, having joined the farm team for the start of his rehab assignment on Thursday. Moss played five innings at first base in the game and went 0-for-3.
Peralta, sidelined with a left thumb ligament strain, is expected to join the Cardinals in Miami on Saturday so he can begin increasing his baseball activity under the supervision of the Major League staff.
As of now, the Cardinals do not have plans to send Peralta out on a rehab assignment. There has been talk internally about having the veteran infielder stay in Florida when the team departs Sunday night to have him face a pitcher in a live batting practice session at the Cardinals' nearby complex in Jupiter on Monday. He could then join the club before it begins a series against the Reds a day later.
