Following their game today, the St. Louis Cardinals announced that outfielder Charlie Tilson has been optioned to Memphis (AAA), reducing their Spring Training roster to 49 players, including 12 non-roster invitees.
Tilson, 23, has appeared in eight Grapefruit League games and has a team-high five stolen bases.
Following today's move, the Cardinals spring roster currently has 24 pitchers (4 non-roster); 5 catchers (2 non-roster); 13 infielders (4 non-roster) and 7 outfielders (2 non-roster).
