Cards' TV partner to have studio in Ballpark Village

FOX Sports Midwest plans to produce more than 300 shows per year at venue

ST. LOUIS -- The Cardinals announced on Friday that their television partner, FOX Sports Midwest, will feature a new studio in Ballpark Village and put its name to the entertainment marketplace featured in the center of the new construction.

Ballpark Village, a mixed-used retail, entertainment, office and business district, projects to open across the street from Busch Stadium by April 7, the date of the Cardinals' home opener.

According to a news release distributed by the Cardinals, FOX Sports Midwest plans to produce more than 300 shows per year at its new studio in Ballpark Village. That studio will be located between the Cardinals Nation restaurant and the Budweiser Brew House on the second level of the development. The backdrop of the anchor's desk will feature a look into Busch Stadium.

The station plans to host its Cardinals Live pregame and postgame shows from this space for both home and road games. Visitors will be able to come inside Ballpark Village to watch the studio show being produced.

In addition, the two-level, 20,000-square foot entertainment market place in Ballpark Village will now wear the name FOX Sports Midwest LIVE! This area will include a stage for concerts and performances, a 200-seat restaurant, a bar/lounge area and LED ribbon boards and screens. It will be enclosed by a 100-foot long retractable glass roof.

FOX Sports Midwest has been the home of the Cardinals for the last 20 years.
