NEW YORK -- Carlos Correa loves hitting at Yankee Stadium.
The Astros' shortstop cranked his fourth homer in as many career games in the Bronx in the first inning Thursday, and he finished 2-for-3 in a 3-2 series-opening win. Correa is hitting .375 (9-for-24) with four homers, six RBIs, seven runs, three walks and two steals in six career games at Yankee Stadium.

Correa's homer, at 107.7 mph off the bat according to Statcast™, was his second-hardest hit homer of the year and the hardest-hit homer off Yankees starter Michael Pineda in 2017. It was the third career homer for Correa against Pineda, giving the shortstop six hits in 10 career at-bats against the Yankees' right-hander.
"Just trying to get good pitches to hit and not miss them when I get them," Correa said. "He threw me a fastball in the middle, and obviously I was able to put a good swing in order to drive it."
Correa has caught fire over the last couple of weeks. He's hitting .353 with four homers and 16 RBIs in his last 17 games, with a .413 on-base percentage and a .676 slugging percentage (1.090 OPS). He has 14 extra-base hits in that span. The hot streak comes after he was held hitless in five games from April 15-22.
"I've been feeling good," Correa said. "I'm trying to stay more consistent every day, try to get good at-bats and swing at good pitches, and when I get good pitches, not miss them. I think that's the key to hitting, getting a good pitch to hit. That's what I'm focusing on."
