SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Carlos Gomez, Joey Gallo and Drew Robinson hit their first homers of the spring, all solo shots, as the Rangers downed the Mariners, 8-2, to break a five-game losing skid for Texas and snap Seattle's three-game winning streak.
Robinson drove in three runs Friday, culminating with a two-run double down the right-field line in the eighth inning to give the Rangers their final margin of victory.
"We talked about this morning finding the barrel on the fastball on velocity in hitter's counts -- that's something we did good today," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said.
Hisashi Iwakuma made his Spring Training debut for the Mariners and allowed one run on three hits and a walk in two innings. Six Rangers pitchers combined to hold the Mariners scoreless in every inning but the fourth, when Mitch Haniger homered and Jarrod Dyson tripled home a run.
"I felt like we threw the ball better today off the mound, threw more strikes, challenged some guys in some counts," Banister said. "We weren't afraid to give up the base hit, a little more aggressive in the zone, played good defense … a much tighter baseball game for us today."
Haniger's homer was his second of the spring, and he and Dyson -- both acquired in offseason trades to upgrade the athleticism in Seattle's outfield -- each had two hits on the day. Dyson is 5-for-10 with two walks and a stolen base in his first four games and flashed his speed with the triple that drove in Boog Powell for Seattle's second tally.
"He can really run," Mariners manager Scott Servais said. "He asked me after the game, 'Skip, I've still got it, right?' And I said, 'Yeah, you're moving just fine.' He's done everything we've needed him to do so far in the leadoff spot."
The Rangers had third baseman Adrian Beltre in the lineup for the first time in Cactus League play, as he is recovering from a calf injury that kept him out of the first seven games. Beltre went 0-for-2 with a pair of putouts at third.

Rangers:Texas will vie for its first winning streak of the spring when it meets Milwaukee in Maryvale, Ariz., at 2:05 p.m. CT. Right-hander Chi Chi Gonzalez will start against Brewers righty Zach Davies in a game that will air on MLB.TV and Gameday Audio. Gonzalez threw two scoreless innings, allowed one hit and struck out two in his only Spring Training appearance this season, Feb. 27 against the Indians.
