Ruiz eyes return after week of rehab games

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Phillies could be getting back Carlos Ruiz sometime next week.

He is headed to Triple-A Lehigh Valley to begin a rehab assignment Saturday. He said Thursday he will play there for a couple of games before playing a couple more rehab games next week with Double-A Reading.

If everything goes well, he could be activated as early as June 21 against the Mets at Citizens Bank Park.

Ruiz has been on the disabled list since May 20 with a strained right hamstring.
