An All-Star performance all around: Philadelphia Phillies vendor honored at 84th Mid-Summer Classic

Citizens Bank Park's Ted Schoening to dish favorite foods during 2013 MLB All-Star Game at Citi Field

When Major League Baseball's All-Stars descend upon the Big Apple for the 84th Mid-Summer Classic on July 14-16, ARAMARK - the exclusive food and beverage partner of Citi Field and 10 other Major League Baseball teams - will honor its own All-Star line-up, inviting the best in-seat vendors from hometown ballparks across the country to serve fans during one of baseball's biggest nights.

Ted Schoening, who is a teacher by day and a vendor by night, was selected as Citizens Bank Park's All-Star vendor honoree. Through his years of teaching and seven years of hustling up and down the ballpark's steps, Schoening has learned how to make people smile. His positive attitude, work ethic and desire to serve embody what it means to be an ARAMARK All-Star Vendor.

Schoening joins 10 other All-Star vendors to represent each of ARAMARK's 11 ballparks as All-Star Vendor honorees. The All-Star hawkers - who will help vend the 37,000 hot dogs, 7,800 bags of peanuts and 13,700 soft pretzels ARAMARK expects to serve during the Mid-Summer Classic - have been awarded an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City and will work the stands during the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game on July 15 and 16.

The All-Stars, including Schoening, will also lead a "Vendors in Training" event for 100 children at the Queens Community House in Flushing, an ARAMARK Building Community partner that provides individuals and families with the tools to enrich their lives and build healthy, inclusive communities.

"Our ARAMARK All-Star vendors truly understand what it means to create an unforgettable experience for fans at each of our ballparks," said Marc Bruno, President of ARAMARK Sports and Entertainment. "These employees dedicate themselves each and every game to putting their best foot forward, and ARAMARK is proud to honor them for their work during one of baseball's most important nights."

This year's All-Star vendors will be among the 2,500 ARAMARK employees who will work daily to source, prep and serve food and beverages throughout the Mid-Summer Classic events held at Citi Field.
