Class A prospect Story falls homer shy of cycle

Shortstop Trevor Story, the Rockies' No. 9 prospect, collected four hits and finished a home run shy of a cycle Monday as Class A Advanced Modesto defeated San Jose, 11-3.

Story scored four runs and finished the game 4-for-5 with a double and a triple. After 25 games, he is hitting .341 with a .994 OPS and 14 stolen bases.

Story is repeating the California League after a disappointing 2013 season. He is already off to a much better start after hitting .151 with a .488 OPS in his first 25 games last year.

Will Swanner, the Rockies' No. 19 prospect, also contributed to Modesto's victory. He went 3-for-4 with a walk, a run and stole his fifth base of the season.
