Bourn undergoes minor hamstring surgery

Indians center fielder Michael Bourn underwent minor surgery on his left hamstring Tuesday in Dallas.

The operation, performed by Dr. Dan Cooper, consisted of a distal hamstring debridement where the tendon attaches behind Bourn's left knee, according to a team release.

Bourn was injured attempting to steal second base in the ninth inning of Cleveland's final game of the regular season on Sept. 29 in Minnesota. He still started and finished the Indians' American League Wild Card Game loss on Oct. 2 against the Rays.

Bourn, 30, will begin rehabilitation this week at his home in Houston and will start his normal offseason training program in four to six weeks.
