Pair of afternoon games feature Ace-Offs

Two of Sunday's games feature matchups between teams' respective aces, as past Cy Young Award winners and 2013 hopefuls meet in the day's Ace-Offs.

Starting with Cliff Lee (10-3, 2.86 ERA) vs. Matt Harvey (7-2, 2.35) at 1:10 p.m. ET, fans will be treated to head-to-head duels of some of the best pitchers in the game over the course of the day.

Harvey, who started the All-Star Game at Citi Field last week for the National League team, was scratched from his last start with a blister on his right index finger, but it is evidently a non-issue. He has an NL-best 147 strikeouts this year, and he impressed in the Midsummer Classic by throwing two innings of shutout ball.

Lee, the 2008 American League Cy Young Award winner, has been key in helping the Phillies stay afloat in the NL East thus far this season, but he is just 1-1 with a 4.87 ERA in his last three outings.

Shortly after the Mets and Phillies start, the Nationals and Dodgers will tango at Nationals Park, where Jordan Zimmermann (12-4, 2.58) and Clayton Kershaw (8-6, 1.98) will square off. Zimmermann, too, has a bit of a nagging injury -- he had an MRI exam Friday that revealed an issue with some soft tissue in his neck -- but the righty has been Washington's most reliable hurler this year.

Kershaw, with 21 strikeouts over his last three starts, struck out 10 in his last outing. The 2011 NL Cy Young Award winner's ERA is tops in the Majors.
