Bellinger records his third multi-homer game for Quakes

Dodgers' No. 9 prospect moves into fifth place in the Minors in homers

Dodgers No. 9 prospect Cody Bellinger hit two homers -- including a two-run shot in the final frame of a seven-inning contest -- but they weren't enough in Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga's walk-off 12-11 loss to High Desert.

The first game of a twin bill featured a wild, back-and-forth shootout. Bellinger belted a solo shot in the first as part of a seven-run inning for Rancho, but High Desert responded with a five-run frame in the second. The Mavs took a 9-8 lead with four runs in the bottom of the third and added two more before the the seventh inning.

Trailing 11-8, Bellinger hit a two-run shot and teammate Jacob Scavuzzo followed up with a solo homer. But the Quakes' comeback was to no avail. High Desert's Joe Jackson singled to left field with the bases loaded and Alberto Triunfel waltzed home for the winning run.

Bellinger finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs and is now fifth in the Minors with 25 homers on the season.
