College lefty Flamion is Dodgers' pick in Round 15

The Dodgers drafted two-way left-hander Billy Flamion in the 15th round of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft on Saturday.

Flamion began his college career at Oregon before transferring to Grossmont College in El Cajon, Calif. He's been an outfielder and pitcher at each program.

This season, Flamion pitched seven innings and struck out nine. But the southpaw walked six and allowed six runs on four hits. With the Ducks in 2012, Flamion struck out 12 and walked 11 in 13 innings as a freshman.

While Flamion hit .287 with two home runs, 24 RBIs and 26 runs scored in 36 games this season, the Dodgers drafted him as a pitcher.

He grew up in Modesto, Calif., and was drafted by the Astros in the 25th round of the 2011 Draft, but did not sign.
