SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Colorado Rockies announced Wednesday that they have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with second baseman DJ LeMahieu to avoid arbitration.
LeMahieu, 27, played in a career-high 150 games for the Rockies in 2015 and batted .301 (170-for-564) with 21 doubles, five triples, six home runs, 61 RBI, 23 stolen bases, 50 walks and 107 strikeouts. The batting average, hits, at-bats, home runs, RBI, walks, strikeouts and stolen bases were all career highs. The batting average ranked 10th in the National League. He was one of five players in the NL with at least 20 doubles, 20 stolen bases and a batting average greater than .300
 LeMahieu was selected to his first NL All-Star roster in 2015, and was the starting second baseman for the National League. He led all NL second basemen in innings (1,284), total chances (761), assists (452) and double plays (120) in 2015.
Originally selected by the Chicago Cubs in the second round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, the Visalia, Calif., native was acquired by the Rockies along with outfielder Tyler Colvin in exchange for right-handed pitcher Casey Weathers and infielder Ian Stewart on Dec. 8, 2011. In 526 career games across parts of five seasons, has a .284 batting average (498-for-1,751) with 212 runs, 71 doubles, 17 triples, 15 home runs, 157 RBI, 52 stolen bases, 116 walks and 325 strikeouts. 
The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
