The Colorado Rockies announced their 34-game 2017 Cactus League schedule today. The schedule features 17 home games and one road game at the award-winning Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. The 2017 Cactus League season will be the club's seventh year at the shared Spring Training facility with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community land near Scottsdale.
 
Colorado opens their Spring Training schedule as the visiting team against Arizona at Salt River Fields on Feb. 25, the ninth consecutive season that the Rockies will open their Cactus League slate against the Diamondbacks. The Rockies will conclude their 2017 Spring Training Schedule with a home game against the Seattle Mariners on April 1 before opening the 2017 regular season on April 3 at Milwaukee.
 
Salt River Fields will also play host to three World Baseball Classic exhibition games, including a March 9 contest between the Rockies and Team Puerto Rico. The Diamondbacks will host Team Mexico on March 8 and the WBC Pool E (Tokyo) qualifier on March 18 at Salt River Fields.
 
Additionally, ROOT SPORTS will broadcast six of the Rockies' Cactus League games, beginning with the March 20 game vs. the World Series champion Chicago Cubs. The broadcast schedule also includes the March 22 game against the American League champion Cleveland Indians and the March 24 game against the San Francisco Giants.
 
KOA NewsRadio, the Rockies radio partner since the club's inaugural season in 1993, will broadcast 23 of the Rockies 34 Spring Training games beginning with the club's first game on February 25. Twelve of the games will be broadcast on KOA NewsRadio 850 AM & 94.1 FM, while 11 games can be heard on KDSP Denver Sports 760. All Rockies home Spring Training games begin at 1:10 p.m. local time with the exception of the March 28 game vs. Texas and the April 1 game vs. Seattle, both of which will begin at 12:10 p.m. local time.
 
Season ticket plans for the Rockies' 17 home games and all 34 Spring Training games at Salt River Fields will go on sale to the public beginning Friday, Dec. 16. Individual tickets for all 35 games at Salt River Fields will go on sale beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7. Tickets for all games at Salt River Fields are priced from $11-$37. General admission lawn seating, which holds 4,000 people, will be $11-$16 and tickets for 7,000 reserved seats in the seating bowl range from $21-$37. The Rockies Plan, which offers tickets to each of the 17 Rockies home games at Salt River Field, ranges in price from $187-$544.
 
Salt River Fields at Talking Stick is located on a 140-acre site near the Pima-Loop 101 and Talking Stick Way and is the first Spring Training facility built on Native American land. Owned by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, the complex consists of separate training facilities, offices and clubhouses accommodating each club as well as a shared 11,000-seat ballpark that features a uniquely designed roof structure offering fans in the cross aisle plenty of shade. Salt River Fields at Talking Stick is one of four entertainment venues carrying the "Talking Stick" brand along with Talking Stick Golf Club, Talking Stick Resort and The Pavilions at Talking Stick.
 
Among the recent awards given to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick are "Best Spring Training Facility" by Arizona Foothills magazine for the fifth consecutive year, "Best Spring Training Destination" by Sports On Earth (2016), "#1 Spring Training Facility" by Concierges magazine, "Best Cactus League Ballpark" by Ballpark Digest (2016), and "Best Place to See a Spring Training Game" by Phoenix New Times (2016). In 2014 Stadium Journey named Salt River Fields both the "Best Cactus League Ballpark" and "Top Stadium Experiences of the Year." USA Today awarded Scottsdale the "Best Spring Training City" (2014) and in 2015 TripAdvisor gave the complex a Certificate of Excellence.
 
Salt River Fields has led the Cactus League in attendance for six consecutive seasons, welcoming more than 300,000 fans each year and is still the only Major League Baseball Spring Training complex ever to break 300,000 fans in a season. It is also the first Spring Training facility to receive a gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Program and the first Spring Training complex to be built on Native American land.
