Colorado Rockies announce Opening Day 25-man roster

The Colorado Rockies, who open the 2016 Major League Baseball season Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, finalized their 2016 Opening Day roster today.

The Colorado Rockies, who open the 2016 Major League Baseball season Monday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, finalized their 2016 Opening Day roster today. 
In reducing the roster to 25 players in advance of the franchise's 24th Major League season, the club placed the following players on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Friday, March 25: right-handed pitchers Jon Gray (abdominal strain) and Jason Motte (shoulder strain), left-handers Tyler Anderson (oblique strain) and Tyler Matzek (anxiety) and infielder Daniel Descalso (fracture, left hand). The team also placed right-handed pitcher Jairo Diaz (ulnar collateral ligament reconstruction, right elbow) on the 60-day disabled list.
The Rockies begin the 2016 campaign on Monday at Arizona's Chase Field at 7:40 p.m. MDT, beginning a three-game series against the Diamondbacks. Colorado returns to Denver and Coors Field on Friday, April 8 for the Home Opener against the San Diego Padres at 2:10 p.m. MDT.
