Colorado Rockies recall catcher/infielder Wilin Rosario from Triple-A Albuquerque

Left-Handed Pitcher Tyler Matzek Optioned to Triple-A

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced today that the club has recalled catcher/infielder Wilin Rosario from Triple-A Albuquerque. Additionally, the club has optioned left-hander Tyler Matzek to Triple-A.

Rosario, 26, appeared in 10 games for the Rockies before being optioned to Triple-A on April 22. In 14 at-bats, he is hitting .357 (5-for-14) with three doubles and one home run. In nine games with Albuquerque, Rosario hit .343 (12-for-35) with four doubles and four RBI.

Matzek, 24, has made five starts for the Rockies in 2015, his second season in the Major Leagues. He is 2-1 with a 5.96 ERA (22.0 IP, 10 ER). He made his most recent start on Wednesday, May 6, and pitched two innings, giving up four runs on three hits and six walks. In 24 career starts, he is 8-12 with a 4.06 ERA (139.2 IP, 63 ER).

The Rockies currently have a full 40-man roster.
