Colorado Rockies reinstate outfielder Carlos González

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated outfielder Carlos González from the 10-day disabled list (right shoulder strain) and have placed infielder-outfielder Ian Desmond on the 10-day disabled list (right calf strain).

DENVER - The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated outfielder Carlos González from the 10-day disabled list (right shoulder strain) and have placed infielder-outfielder Ian Desmond on the 10-day disabled list (right calf strain).
• González, 31, was placed on the 10-day disabled list June 26 with a right shoulder strain, his first stint on the disabled list since 2014 … suffered the injury on June 22 … in 68 games with the Rockies this season, is batting .221 (54-for-244) with 13 doubles, six home runs, 20 RBI, 29 walks and one stolen base … in 1,132 career games with Oakland (2008) and Colorado (2009-17), has batted .287 (1,206-for-4,199) with 693 runs, 246 doubles, 36 triples, 207 home runs, 674 RBI, 366 walks and 115 stolen bases. • Desmond, 31, was removed from Sunday's game at Arizona in the fourth inning … will be making his second stint on the disabled list after beginning the season on the 10-day DL with a fractured left hand … in 57 games with Colorado, is batting .283 (62-for-219) with 31 runs, six doubles, one triple, five home runs, 26 RBI, 10 walks and 10 stolen bases … in parts of eight Major League seasons with Washington (2009-15), Texas (2016) and Colorado (2017), the Sarasota, Fla., native has batted .268 (1,157-for-4,324) with 562 runs, 220 doubles, 25 triples, 137 home runs, 544 RBI, 286 walks and 153 stolen bases … signed a five-year contract with Colorado on Dec. 13, 2016.
