Dodgers shortstop slips to second place behind Reds' Cozart

LOS ANGELES -- beat the Reds with a clutch grand slam on Sunday, but Reds fans are beating Dodgers fans in voting for the National League's starting All-Star shortstop.
Cincinnati's Zack Cozart moved ahead of Seager, last week's vote leader at shortstop, in the latest Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot update for the 2017 MLB Al-Star Game presented by MasterCard. Cozart has 997,966 votes to Seager's 804,788 votes.
Seager's first career grand slam capped a six-run comeback victory over the Reds. Seager, an All-Star last season in his NL Rookie of the Year Award-winning campaign, has nine homers and 31 RBIs. Cozart, seeking his first All-Star berth, also has nine home runs with 33 RBIs.

All the other Dodgers have a tough climb to enter contention for a starting spot. Third baseman is third at his position behind the Cubs' and the Rockies' . is fifth at catcher, more than a million votes behind leader of San Francisco. And the highest-placed Dodgers outfielder is at 14th.

On smartphones and tablets, fans can also access the ballot via the MLB.com At Bat and MLB.com Ballpark mobile apps. Vote up to five times in any 24-hour period for a maximum of 35 ballots cast.
Following the announcement of the 2017 All-Star starters, reserves and pitchers, fans should return to MLB.com and cast their 2017 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Final Vote for the final player on each league's All-Star roster. Then on Tuesday, July 11, while watching the 2017 All-Star Game presented by MasterCard live on FOX, fans may visit MLB.com to submit their choices for the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player Award presented by Chevrolet with the 2017 MLB All-Star Game MVP Vote.
