Veteran right-hander Matt Garza threw a scoreless first inning while allowing one base hit in his spring debut for the Brewers.
"I still get butterflies," said Garza, who went 6-8 with a 4.51 ERA in 19 starts for Milwaukee last season. "But it felt good to be out there practically with a new body and have my stuff kind of where it should be right now. I'm not trying to find anything anymore. I'm just trying to ride the wave of where I was at the end of last year. It felt good."

Miranda's only run allowed came after he walked Scooter Gennett then gave up a double to
Cruz, playing right field for the first time this spring, doubled in the fourth and scored on Ruiz's second base hit. Cruz, who will play primarily designated hitter this year, is 5-for-8 with two doubles and two homers in four games.
