Cubs re-claim lefty Rollins off waivers

December 23rd, 2016

CHICAGO -- The Cubs added another left-handed pitcher to their inventory, claiming off waivers from the Rangers for the second time this offseason. It's the fifth time he's been claimed since Nov. 18.
Rollins, who turned 27 on Wednesday, has been popular on the transaction wire. The Cubs claimed him off waivers on Nov. 18, and then the Rangers claimed him four days later. He was then claimed off waivers by the Phillies on Dec. 2, but he was designated for assignment on Dec. 14 and then re-acquired by the Rangers off waivers on Wednesday.
With the move, Chicago's 40-man roster now is at 38.
