Hendricks, who led the Majors with a 2.13 ERA in 2016, pitched a pair of gems against the Dodgers last October, giving up just five hits and one earned run over 12 2/3 innings.
The right-hander said during the offseason that his success last year largely stemmed from improved command, as he posted the highest number of called strikes outside of the zone among pitchers who threw at least 1,000 pitches, according to Statcast™.
The Cubs were no-hit through seven innings by the Reds on Friday, and the Dodgers are coming off a pair of losses in split-squad games against the Royals and D-backs.
