Bryant's first spring homer is a grand slam

MESA, Ariz. -- 's first spring home run was a big one.
The reigning National League Most Valuable Player smacked a grand slam in the fourth inning of the Cubs' Cactus League game against the Dodgers to open a 7-2 lead. The Cubs went on to win, 9-3.

The Cubs loaded the bases with two outs in the fourth against , and drew a walk on four pitches to force in a run to give the Cubs a 3-2 lead. Bryant then cleared them with his homer, a line drive over the left field fence, to go ahead, 7-2.
The home run, which came off a 1-2 pitch from Stewart, was Bryant's second hit in 12 spring at-bats. Last year, he hit two homers in Spring Training before smacking a team-high 39 in the regular season on his way to winning the MVP Award.
