Vogelbach goes deep in twin bill sweep

First baseman Dan Vogelbach, the Cubs' No. 10 prospect, homered in both games of a doubleheader Saturday, as Class A Advanced Daytona swept Clearwater.

Vogelbach's home runs came in consecutive plate appearances split between the two games. His first was a solo shot in the sixth inning of Game 1, giving the Cubs a 5-4 lead. It proved to be the decisive run in the seven-inning game. His next trip to the plate came in the first inning of Game 2, and he powered a two-run blast to right field. It was one of three home runs Daytona hit in the inning, en route to an 8-4 victory.

Between the two games, Vogelbach went 4-for-6 with three runs and three RBIs. He is hitting .259 with four home runs and a .707 OPS this season.

Outfielder Albert Almora, the Cubs' No. 3 prospect and No. 15 overall, went 1-for-3 with an RBI in the first game. He did not play in the nightcap.
