PITTSBURGH -- On Saturday night, the Cubs' Anthony Rizzo went 4-for-5 against the Pirates, with hits in his final four at-bats. He was a home run shy of the cycle. On Sunday, Rizzo picked up where he left off.
The Cubs' All-Star first baseman smacked hits in his first four at-bats in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Pirates for eight straight hits. He hit a single in the first, a double in the third, a single in the fourth, and then dribbled a double down the left field line in the sixth. Rizzo grounded out to second in the eighth to end his streak.
The eight straight hits put Rizzo two shy of the modern National League record, last done by the Braves' Matt Diaz in 2006.
"I like this park, I enjoy coming here and playing here," Rizzo said. "It's one of those things."

He isn't kidding. In six games this season at PNC Park, Rizzo is 17-for-27 (.630) with two home runs, nine doubles, one triple and five RBIs.
The Major League record for consecutive hits is 12, shared by the Tigers' Walt Dropo (1952) and the Cubs' Johnny Kling (1902).
