D-backs announce 2016 radio broadcast schedule

The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced their radio broadcast schedule for the 2016 season in honor of World Radio Day today, and includes all 162 regular season games and 11 Spring Training games in English and 162 regular season games and two Spring Training games in Spanish.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced their radio broadcast schedule for the 2016 season in honor of World Radio Day today, and includes all 162 regular season games and 11 Spring Training games in English and 162 regular season games and two Spring Training games in Spanish.
Throughout Spring Training, fans will be able to hear 19 exhibition contests that will be carried in English on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, ESPN Phoenix 620 or on webcasts hosted at dbacks.com. The first broadcast of the spring will be March 2 at 1:10 p.m. on ESPN Phoenix 620 when the D-backs open up Cactus League action vs. the Colorado Rockies at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick. Fans will be able to tune into the first webcast of the season on dbacks.com on March 1 when the D-backs host the University of Arizona at Salt River Fields. Throughout Spring Training, three games will be hosted on ESPN Phoenix 620, eight on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM and eight can be heard via webcast at dbacks.com.
For fans listening in Spanish, all 162 regular season D-backs games can be heard on La Mejor 1400 AM. Fans can also tune in to two Spring Training games in Spanish on March 27 at 1:10 p.m. vs. the Colorado Rockies and on April 2 at 12:10 p.m. vs. the Kansas City Royals. Former D-backs pitcher Rodrigo Lopez will serve as the Spanish-language broadcast analyst for his third full season and will join Oscar Soria, who returns for his 18th full season as the play-by-play voice on D-backs Spanish-language broadcasts. Richard Saenz also returns for his 14th season in the D-backs' Spanish radio booth, working as a fill-in color analyst and Arturo Ochoa will return as the fill-in for play by play.
Greg Schulte, who has been behind the mic for every major moment in D-backs history, returns to handle play-by-play duties for his 19th season, while former big league pitcher Tom Candiotti enters his 11th season as the D-backs' radio color analyst. Mike Ferrin will begin his first season as a member of the D-backs' broadcast team, serving as the secondary radio play-by-play announcer and pre- and postgame show host. 
Returning in 2016, is a half-hour postgame talk show called "Diamond Talk." The show, hosted by Ferrin, will follow the network postgame show after most regular season home games, adding an additional 35 hours of D-backs programming again this season. "Diamond Talk" will include analysis of the game and interviews from the clubhouse, while Ferrin will be joined each night by other members of the D-backs broadcast team. Fans will be encouraged to interact with the show via social media. Ferrin will also host "D-backs BP Show", a pregame show that starts half an hour before first pitch that features interviews, analysis and late-breaking news from around Major League Baseball.
This season will also offer popular weekly shows on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, featuring D-backs Manager Chip Hale, Chief Baseball Officer Tony La Russa and President & CEO Derrick Hall. Beginning in mid-March, Hale will call-in each Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. to Burns & Gambo while La Russa and Hall will be a part of Doug & Wolf at 8:15 a.m. each Wednesday (La Russa) and 8:45 a.m. each Thursday (Hall).
