Bradley ready for Saturday after sim game

PHOENIX -- It didn't take long for D-backs right-hander Archie Bradley to get tested during his simulated game Monday, as Cliff Pennington hit a comebacker through the box and Nick Ahmed hit one that nearly clipped Bradley's feet.

Bradley, who has been on the disabled list since being struck in the face by a line drive off the bat of the Rockies' Carlos Gonzalez on April 28, threw four innings and pronounced himself ready to start Saturday against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

"Obviously a little scary, but didn't flinch, got right back up there and overall threw the ball well," Bradley said of the comebacker. "Arm felt good, face felt well, and just overall ready to get going again."

After he hit the ball, Pennington turned to GM Dave Stewart, who was standing behind the cage, and jokingly asked if he was going to be released.

"I didn't see him flinch at all," D-backs manager Chip Hale said. "He pitched like it was normal, with no screen. It was good."
