MIAMI -- A day after being no-hit by Edinson Volquez and dropping their third straight game to the Marlins in a 6-5 loss on Sunday at Marlins Park, the D-backs know where they stand: They know they have little to worry about.
"I mean, that's especially where we were last year," reliever Archie Bradley said of the 2016 D-backs, which finished 69-93. "The veterans on this team have got us believing the right way, and [manager] Torey [Lovullo] and our coaches. Yeah, we're frustrated we dropped three in a row here or whatever it was, but it's part of it."
Arizona finished its road trip an underwhelming 5-6. There were pitches, plays and at-bats the club wishes it had back. At-bats like the 14-pitch duel Bradley lost to Miami catcher A.J. Ellis on a 99.8-mph fastball on Sunday, which proved to be the game-winner.

There was even Monday's 4-3 loss to Pittsburgh, one in which Bradley served up a walk-off home run to Andrew McCutchen on a 97-mph fastball.
"Same thing with McCutchen," Bradley said. "I got beat on our best pitch. That's the game sometimes."
A costly error didn't help Arizona's cause on Sunday, either. First baseman Paul Goldschmidt airmailed a potential double-play ball in the second inning, and Miami's Tyler Moore launched a three-run homer to make him pay.
"We didn't turn that double play that led to some runs, but Goldy is an incredible first baseman, and sometimes those plays are gonna happen," Lovullo said.

But not all is lost for a team that just went 10-7 in 17 consecutive games without an off-day. Not to mention the D-backs are still nine games above .500 and within striking distance of the Rockies and Dodgers for first place in the National League West.
"I think we're obviously still in a very good spot," Lovullo said. "I know the road trip we finished 5-6 and had an opportunity to do much better than that, but I think these guys will enjoy their off-day tomorrow and come out ready to play on Tuesday."
Arizona heads back to Chase Field for three against the Padres, followed by three versus the Brewers. They're eager to finish the first half on a roll.
Nineteen of the club's final 30 games before the All-Star break come at home, where the D-backs are 21-8 this season. Bradley said the club's ready to get back on track.
"We'll regroup and relax," Bradley said. "Let's get this homestand started and start winning games again."
