Arizona Diamondbacks and FOX Sports Arizona encourage fans to vote for next D-backs legend to be featured in Legends Entertainment District

Fans can vote for their favorite D-backs legend at foxsportsarizona.com/dbackslegend

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) and FOX Sports Arizona (@FOXSPORTSAZ) are teaming up to select the next D-backs legend to be honored in the Legends Entertainment District (@LegendsDistrict) in downtown Phoenix.

Fans are encouraged to log on to foxsportsarizona.com/dbackslegend to vote for the D-backs legend they feel deserves to be featured in the District. The nominees are: Bob Brenly, Steve Finley, Curt Schilling and Matt Williams. Fan voting runs through Wednesday, Aug. 21. The player who receives the most votes will be featured on a 42-foot tall super graphic across from Chase Field located at the intersection of 7th Street and Jefferson in the Legends Entertainment District.

Brenly managed the D-backs from 2001-04 and guided the franchise to its first World Championship in 2001. Brenly's .536 winning percentage is the highest in D-backs history and his 303 victories rank second on the all-time list. Brenly rejoined the D-backs broadcast team this season after previously serving as the club's original analyst from 1998-2000 on FOX Sports Arizona.

Finley is a two-time All-Star (1997, 2000) and five-time Gold Glove recipient (1995-96, 1999, 2000, 2004). He was part of the D-backs' 2001 World Championship team and played outfield for the club from 1999-2004. Finley became the first D-backs player to win a Gold Glove Award in 1999.

Schilling is a six-time All-Star (1997-99, 2001-02, 2004) and three-time World Series Champion (2001, 2004, 2007). Schilling, who pitched for the D-backs from 2000-03, went 22-6 with a 2.98 ERA in 2001 and led the Majors in wins and innings pitched (256.2). He also went 4-0 with a 1.12 ERA throughout the 2001 playoffs and shared the World Series MVP Award with Johnson.

Williams is a five-time All-Star (1990, 1994-96, 1999), four-time Gold Glove Award Winner (1991, 1993-94, 1997) and four-time Silver Slugger Award Winner (1990, 1993-94, 1997). Currently he serves as the D-backs' third base coach after a 17-year playing career as a third baseman. He was a member of the 2001 World Series Championship team and played six seasons with the D-backs (1998-2003).

Arizona Diamondbacks legend and special assistant to the president, Luis Gonzalez, was the first D-backs player to be featured in the Legends District in September 2011. Last season, former D-backs pitcher Randy Johnson was selected by fans to be featured across from Chase Field as part of the annual Legends Entertainment District vote.

FOX Sports Arizona will unveil the newest D-backs legend during its D-backs-Giants pregame show on Saturday, Aug. 31 (4:30 p.m.). First pitch is scheduled for 5:10 p.m. on Throwback Night, featuring the second annual Alumni Game presented by Denny's and Sanderson Ford. The Alumni game will begin shortly after the D-backs game at Chase Field and will feature several former D-backs players.

Legends Entertainment District offers customized, larger than life out-of-home signage opportunities that run 18 hours a day, 365 days a year. The project is designed to encompass landmark downtown facilities, extending from 1st Avenue to 7th Street and Washington to Jackson Street.
