D-backs tweak rotation for final seven games

Godley will start Sunday in place of Chacin, who will be in 'pen

SAN DIEGO -- It is best to write down the starting rotation for the D-backs in pencil when it comes to the final seven games of the season.

Right-hander Zack Godley, who the team previously said had made his final start of the year on Sept. 9 vs. the Giants, will start in place of Jhoulys Chacin on Sunday, with Chacin expected to pitch in relief of Godley.

Robbie Ray, Chase Anderson and Patrick Corbin will start against the Rockies in a three-game home series that begins Tuesday night.

The D-backs then play host to the Astros for the final three games of the season with Rubby De La Rosa and Jeremy Hellickson set to start Friday and Saturday's games.

As for who gets the nod in the season finale, that could depend on whether or not the game has an impact on Astros' playoff chances. Houston is currently battling the Angels and Twins for the second American League Wild Card.

The D-backs may go with Ray for that final game.

"We'll see how it is, see how he feels," Hale said. "We may want him to get the start and get those innings in and build him up to where we want for next year."
