PHOENIX -- D-backs second baseman was removed from Saturday night's 13-0 loss to the Reds at the start of the third inning due to illness.
"Jean was a little ill, stomach illness," manager Chip Hale said. "Hopefully it'll be a 24-hour deal, be ready to go tomorrow, but we'll have to check him in the morning."
Segura has been a bright spot for Arizona this season, hitting .316 with 12 homers and 50 RBIs. His 162 hits led the National League entering Saturday. He has played in 123 of the D-backs' 130 games.
When Segura exited, Arizona was already trailing Cincinnati, 9-0. He walked in his only plate appearance.
