PHOENIX -- Jean Segura has been the D-backs' most consistent hitter this season, batting a team-high .317 and providing a steady presence in the leadoff spot. Right now, he's also consistently hitting home runs.
Segura became the first player in franchise history to hit a leadoff homer in consecutive games. Then, he became the third to hit a pair of homers in back-to-back games in Arizona's 11-6 win over the Rockies on Wednesday night at Chase Field.
"I'm not trying to go out there and hit a homer, I just go out there trying to put a good at-bat, trying the best I can to get on base ," said Segura, who went 5-for-6 with three RBIs and three runs. "It feels pretty good."

The only other D-backs players to hit multiple homers in two straight games were Reggie Sanders (April 20-21, 2001) and Tony Clark (Sept. 16-17, 2005).
Segura is the fifth leadoff hitter since 1913 to hit a pair of homers in consecutive games. Boston's Mookie Betts also accomplished the feat earlier this season.
The Arizona second baseman has a career-high 16 homers this season, his first with the team. He had 23 total homers over the past three seasons, all with Milwaukee.
"The guy knocks out two or three, or five, hits a night, it's pretty special to watch," Arizona shortstop Chris Owings said. "He keeps it simple up there and if it's in the zone, he's just locked in this year, where he's hitting a line drive or hard ground ball and the past two games, some of those line drives have gotten out for homers."

Segura, 26, is enjoying a career season. He had never before hit higher than .294 in a year and his 182 hits, 89 runs and 56 RBIs are all career-bests.
If Segura can reach 200 hits, he would be just the second Arizona player to reach the milestone in a season. Luis Gonzalez had 206 in 1999.
"He's just a good hitter and I think dropping his hands like he did over the winter just freed him up," D-backs manager Chip Hale said. "He's feeling good about himself and seeing the ball well. So the power, I'm surprised a little bit, the rest of the game, not at all."
