D-backs place Lamb on 15-day disabled list, select Dorn from Reno, and transfer Laird to 60-day disabled list

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks placed infielder Jake Lamb on the 15-day disabled list with a left foot stress reaction, selected the contract of infielder Danny Dorn from Triple-A Reno and transferred catcher Gerald Laird to the 60-day disabled list, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.

Lamb, 24, is batting .414 (12-for-29) with 3 doubles, 1 triple and 9 RBI in 10 games. His batting average ranks third in the National League and seventh in the Majors (min. 20 PA). He has reached base safely in all 10 games, hitting safely in 8, after making his first Opening Day roster.

Dorn, 30, will wear No. 26 in his Major League debut. He hit .474 (18-for-38) with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 8 RBI and 7 runs scored in 10 games for the Aces. He ranked among Minor League leaders in OPS (2nd, 1.289), average (3rd), slugging percentage (4th, .789), hits (T-9th), total bases (T-10th) and on-base percentage (T-11th, .500).

Dorn spent the last 2 seasons in the D-backs organization with Reno after signing as a Minor League free agent on Nov. 7, 2013. Over 10 Minor League seasons, Dorn hit .280 (910-for-3,252) with 207 doubles, 148 home runs and 546 RBI in 939 career games. He was drafted by the Reds in the 32nd-round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

Laird, 35, made the D-backs' Opening Day roster and appeared in 1 game. He underwent back surgery (lumbar micro discectomy) on Monday.
