D-backs announce Hudson as today's starter, select RHP J.C. Ramirez from Reno, transfer Patrick Corbin to 60-day disabled list

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) named right-handed pitcher Daniel Hudson as today's starter and also selected the contract of right-handed pitcher J.C. Ramirez from Triple-A Reno and transferred left-handed pitcher Patrick Corbin to the 60-day disabled list, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart.

Ramirez, 26, has not allowed a run in 11 relief appearances (11.2 IP) with the Aces this season. He has limited opponents to a .108 average (4-for-37), including holding left-handed batters hitless in 11 at-bats.

Ramirez appeared in 18 games with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2013, going 0-1 with a 7.50 ERA (20 ER in 24.0 IP). In 10 Minor League seasons, he is 50-46 with 10 saves and a 4.17 ERA (401 ER in 865.0 IP) in 257 games (127 starts).

Ramirez, who signed with Arizona as a Minor League free agent on Dec. 1, 2014, will become the second player from Nicaragua to play for the D-backs, joining pitcher Vicente Padilla (1999-2000).

Corbin, 25, has been on the disabled list since the start of the 2014 season after Tommy John surgery on his left elbow.
