Ahmed to meet with doctor Tuesday in NY

August 3rd, 2016

PHOENIX -- D-backs shortstop has not yet resumed baseball activities and will meet with another doctor next week for the right hip impingement that landed him on the disabled list on July 23.
Ahmed will travel with the team to New York for its three-game series against the Mets that begins next Tuesday. He will be examined by another doctor there, one who team doctor Gary Waslewski often refers to hockey players with similar hip-related injuries.
"I just saw him this morning, he's doing fine, doing all his exercises," D-backs manager Chip Hale said. "Baseball-wise, he hasn't really started much."
Ahmed is batting .218 with four homers and 20 RBIs in 90 games this season, while also providing his typical stellar defense at shortstop.
