D-backs option Vidal Nuno to Triple-A Reno

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) optioned left-handed pitcher Vidal Nuño to Triple-A Reno, as announced by D-backs Sr. Vice President & General Manager Dave Stewart. A corresponding move will be made before tomorrow's game.

Nuño, 27, was recalled on May 11 and appeared in 1 game for the D-backs. He had a career-high 8 strikeouts on May 11 vs. Nationals while his 6.2 innings were the most by a D-backs reliever since Randy Johnson's 7.0 innings on July 18, 2001 @ Padres. Nuño is 3-2 with a 3.23 ERA (14 ER in 39.0 IP), 5 walks and 37 strikeouts in 6 starts with the Aces this season. At the time of his promotion, he ranked second in the Pacific Coast League in strikeouts and fourth in innings.
